Lottery Number
The lottery number is printed in the top right of your lottery ticket. Also called the draw number, it indicates the lottery and the number of the draw of that lottery for which you’ve bought the ticket. The lottery number is usually represented by two alphabets and two digits joined by a dash. The alphabetical part denotes the name of the lottery while the number tells you the draw.
For example, AK-67 means your ticket is for the 67th draw of the Akshaya lottery while NR-50 means you’re participating in the 50th draw of the Nirmal lottery. Always note the current draw numbers of a lottery before buying a ticket. You don’t want to buy a ticket for, say the 54th draw of a lottery when the upcoming one is the 55th. Tickets from previous draws are considered invalid.

Secret Number and Barcode
You’ll find a secret number and an associated barcode in the bottom left of a Kerala lottery ticket. Each ticket comes with a unique secret code that’s supposed to be kept a secret by the ticket holder. Since the secret code is used as a verification method to prevent forgery, you should not reveal yours to anyone else.

Counterfoil Number and Seal
The right edge of your Kerala lottery ticket has a counterfoil number and a seal. You may notice that the number and seal seem to have been split in half by the ticket’s edge. This is done on purpose, as the other halves of this number and seal are kept in the district office and used for verification purposes for bigger prizes.
